The Gooby Escape Free Easy Fit Harness is exactly what I needed for both of my small dogs who are escape artists and my big dog who scares easily at sudden or loud noises. The design is brilliant—I love the martingale-style cinch - it’s secure but comfortable, and my pups can’t wriggle out of it like other harnesses I’ve tried. The step-in style makes it quick and easy to put on, which is a big plus when you’re dealing with an excited pup!The harness is lightweight but durable, with soft padding that doesn’t irritate the skin. I also appreciate the range of colors, as it’s nice to have something both functional and stylish. Our walks have been so much easier and worry-free with this harness. Highly recommend for small dog owners, especially if you’ve had issues with other harnesses! But we big dog owners can enjoy the security and ease this harness provides. Every walk is now a joy!

This is a great harness. The material is sturdy, but it's still very lightweight and comfortable; my dog is able to freely run in it.With the right size, this harness also functions like a martingale collar in that the more you (or the dog) pull on the leash, the tighter it gets around the body. That mechanism helps prevent the dog from slipping out.I've attached photos to show how different sizes fit on a small fluffy dog that weighs 18 pounds and has a chest circumference of about 19 inches (18.5 inches if the tape measure is pulled tight).The small size harness did fit, barely, but I would've had to pull the harness even tighter in order to bring the two ends of the leash rings together to clip on the leash -- that is, for normal wear. (Just FYI, the circumference of the harness is about 21 inches here.) Also, I could tell that the harness sides were too small and uncomfortable on my dog.So the Small size was just too small and too tight and uncomfortable for my dog. I had originally tried this size because I was concerned about excess slack making the leash ring ends flop around, but the small harness left no slack at all.The medium size fits perfectly. You can see in the photo that there's enough slack to pull the harness tighter when needed, but otherwise, the harness fits comfortably while he is relaxed.The large size also did fit, but you can see in the photo that the harness fits loosely even with the adjustable belts at the smallest lengths. That meant the harness couldn't be pulled any tighter to prevent the dog from slipping out. Plus the leash ring end belts would easily flop around.So, based on this experience, my dog's 19 inch chest was at the very end but within the limits of the Small size range; in the middle of the Medium range; and just below the range for Large. The Medium size harness fit the best, and it was also the only one that allows the harness to function like it's supposed to.Overall, I highly recommend this harness. Just make sure you get the right size for your pup. I just wish it was a bit more affordable and that it had a ring on the front for attaching ID tags.

Super easy harness to put on and helps with pulling. I took me a second to figure the adjustments, but then it was as easy as having our dogs step in, snap the buckle and clasp the leash. My only concern is the rings where the leash clips on are plastic. If you have a strong puller, maybe you could add metal rings? The material is very nice and the harness does not rub on our poodle or our schnauzers chest.

My Yorkie has a collapsible trachea, so no more dog collars for him! I have a harness that I used, but he outgrew it, so it was time to buy a new one. Finding one that doesn't come up to his throat area takes some research. I found this one and decided to give it a try. Overall, it's a great product. It runs true to size and is extremely easy to put on. However, this has two leads for the least, which is wonderful, but for wearing indoors, the two leads just hang there, which doesn't seem to be practical for indoor use. It also takes to fun out of your dog rolling around on the floor or in the backyard. So I ordered a different style from Gooby, which should be arriving soon. I'm definitely keeping it as a spare, but only for walks or running errands. Thumbs up!

We love these harnesses. We have 3 dogs and we use this harness for each of them. The colors are true and it has long lasting quality. We’ve had a couple for over 8 years and no issues so it is a great value. The harness is not tight and fits odd sized dogs perfectly because it is also adjustable. The security of the harness is very important as the dogs cannot pull or slip out of it.

I've tried all kinds of collars and harnesses for Agatha, and this is the best so far. My other Chi wears the Gooby Choke Free Step-in Comfort X and it fits him perfectly, but it didn't work for her. She has a large chest, and the sizing on this was odd, because her measure is 17", the small size is 17-19", yet it seemed to just fit, not be on the small side as you'd expect. In any case, it fits well. The little plastic sliders for loosening or tightening slipped and became uneven a couple of times and I had to readjust them, but now they are in place, which is good because they seem a bit flimsy and I don't want them to break. I had wanted the orange color, but it was not available; this turquoise turned out to be a good choice. Now for the important thing: the harness gives me control over her when she tries to lunge for another dog. I shorten the retractable leash and pull up on it, and then she cannot do it. And she definitely can't get out of this harness as she did out of others or out of her collar. i like that there is nothing to constrict her neck. Also, this harness does not have a long piece that attaches to the leash, so when you take the leash off, there is nothing hanging down. Not that I leave the harness on, but if it is on for a little while, it does not have anything in the way. In all, I'm happy with this purchase, and she does not resist having it put on.
