Solid drive.
Solid drive. Great transfer rates, quiet, low power usage. Exceeded my expectations.

Ultrastar hard drives are the most reliable IMO
After experiencing a 3 for 3 failure rate with the leading low cost hard drive vendor, I purchased 3 WD Ultrastar DC HC580 WUH722424ALE6L4 drives five months ago and I have had no issues with them. The Ultrastar line was acquire from Hitachi who acquired the line from IBM. I have purchased over 50 Ultrastar drives in the last 16 years and have experienced virtually no failures. To maximize reliability, I recommend keeping drives powered on and spinning and cooled with ample airflow.

The drive capacity is accurate if you know how os represents it
The drive was packaged well and arrived promptly with no delays, both smart tests and benchmarks indicates it's new and working well, only thing to note with ntfs In windows in use will show 22tb while device Info and bios will show the correct 24tb in gigabytes. Os will show a slightly differnt number then 24 due to how it represents the drive number but will have same capacity for use. Would buy again in near future

Best of the best IMHO!
Fantastic drive! Even though it is not the best of ideas regarding backing up, I use it to back up a NAS "just in case". Runs cool and quiet and what more can you ask for?

Bought 2 on one order, both damaged
Maybe I'm just the unlucky one, I bought 2, one I copied 10TB files to it, after 6 hours, I restarted the computer, bios detected smart error and gave me warning about the health of the disk. I then spent 3 days trying to copy the files out of the disk because some files already unable to read out and some took lots of time to read. Then I connected power and sata to the 2nd disk, this time even worse, it spinned, then giving out da da da sound, then I turned off computer, then turned on again, bios not even detected it.So my experience with 2 24tb are all bad, I have purchased many WD disks and bought several times from Amazon, this is the first time experiencing this.I don't know whether it's a package probelm or not, maybe during the delivery, the disks somehow damaged.Already refunded on the item. But still arguing over refund on shipment chrages incurred while returning. For users looking for 24TB disks, ask the seller to properly package the disks to protect them.
