The devil is in the detail
Let's face it. Kyosho doesn't make cheap products. It certainly can be argued that for what you pay, there should be a lot more aluminum and carbon fiber than plastic in the end product. That said, I think it would be hard for you to find an RC car model that has more realistic detail in it than what Kyosho provides in their Fazer MK2 line. The 1969 El Camino is no exception and may well be one of the better examples of their quality in the Fazer MK2 line. The body lines and trim detail make it look like an El Camino that just rolled off the General Motors assembly line. Add a light kit for short money and it just adds that much more amazing detail to the model. If you took a close-up video of it rolling down the street, you'd be hard-pressed to tell if you were looking at an RC car or the real thing. This model is definitely a must have for your RC car collection. The only gripe I have is Kyosho needs to paint on the chrome and not use decals. Using a heat gun as they indicate in the manual does resolve any chrome sticker issues, but unnecessarily detracts from the overall quality they put into the product. That said, the pre-painted and detailed body is definitely an A+++ and goes beyond any other RC car manufacturer. As far as the Fazer MK2 platform itself, I would give it a B+ rating overall. It is decently fast for its scale, with good quality electronics that get the job done. This is a cruiser and not a drag racer, so speed isn't the most critical performance detail. For the price I think you should get brushless included rather than an upgrade. But even so, it definitely has more speed than you really need in a cruiser. It does left-turn donuts with ease and makes for a fan thriller when showing off its muscle car creds. It however cannot do a right-turn donut so that is an indicator of a left-turn bias in their handling design. Again, this is an area where aluminum components in at least the suspension area would make a big difference. The included controller in the RTR kit is amazing with all sorts of tunability. Out of the box the car handles superbly, and a novice could have this car going down the road with confidence in short order. I have driven the car for several half-hour sessions and still haven't run down the initial charge on my battery. So, the powertrain is definitely efficient for long RC sessions. This model will likely see more wall display time than street time for me, but it will definitely be one of my favorites that I will enjoy pulling out and running when showing off my RC car collection.

Looks great
This thing is fast and a lot of fun. Only thing is stock tires only lasted about 3 runs. Upgraded wheels and tires and love it. Would recommend.
