I've had a baking business for over 40 years and these are a good value for liquid food colorings. I mention "liquid" because the paste type I only use when more intense colors are needed. That said, I use the liquid type more frequently. There are some things to point out to make their use easier. First, go through all the bottles and twist off the tops using a channel lock pair of pliers. Believe me it's a pain to stop in the middle of a decorating project and take these off. It only takes less than 5 mins to do this. Second, be sure to tightly close the tops to avoid any spills or leakage if they fall over. The box they come in is pretty sturdy, so store them in that. It keeps them tightly organized. To test color, I put a drop or two in small white dish to see the actual color. This will help to determine how many drops you'll need to get the color depth you're looking for. I do like that there are a lot of "in between" colors like Orange Red", "Sunset Red", "Sunset Yellow" "Blue Green", "Coffee" and "Purplish Red". This saves time if you're trying to mix these colors from primary colors. I'm very happy with this purchase!

The only complaint I have (which I guess is actually a kind of big one) was the colors did not end up being vibrant and dark. I figured with that many colors, Christmas cookies would be a breeze. Problem was, the red was not a true red, it was more of a pink (no matter how much we added). And the green wasn’t really a pretty green either. Even trying to mix to make colors didn’t work with the red not being a true red. The lighter colors were great, and the cookies end up being beautiful, but I know now to try out the colors first next time to make sure we get the colors we need, and not just assume, since I bought a ton of colors, that it will work. Again, don’t get me wrong, we managed fine, and if it had been Easter cookies, or if we needed pastel colors, it would have been great.

This is a great selection of colors. The bottles are small but you get 21 different colors and it only takes a couple of drops. I will definitely order again.

I bought this dye to use to dye fondant. I had to use the entire bottle of the color brown and add black dye to it to make it dark brown. I thought just a little bit of the dye would turn fondant the color of the dye but I ended having to use the entire bottle. The black dye started off as grey and I kept having to add more dye until eventually after using the entire bottle was I able to get a dark grey color NOT black. The cherry red color came out as a salmon pink color. I even tried mixing blue to make it darker and it turned out a rosy color pink. The sky blue actually came out blue and I only had to use a little bit dye. Also this dye stains your hands even after washing my hands after using a color the dye wouldn’t come off. If your planning on using this dye for Fondant I don’t recommend it.

I recently tried the Gel Food Coloring set with 15 colors, and it was a mixed experience. The colors are indeed vibrant but not as concentrated as advertised but still great for decorating cakes, cookies, and other baked goods.I found that some of the colors didn't mix as smoothly as I hoped, leaving streaks in the icing. Also, the bottles are quite small at 6g each, so they run out quickly if you're doing a lot of baking. Overall, it's a decent product, would suggest the price be a little less, but easy to use. I did not notice a taste from the product. Although the product is functional there are some areas for improvement.
