Works exactly as advertised
I’m pretty sure all the negative reviews for this product are all user error. I’ve healed a number of tats with second skin and this product works exactly like any other. When applying, keep In mind:- There’s essentially 3 layers here (2 that peel). The first peel is protecting the side that sticks to your skin. The second is the actual membrane layer that sticks to your skin, and the third (outer) layer is a little thicker, kinda like plastic.- The little strip that you pull from the first layer is just a starter strip. It’s not nearly as sticky as the rest of the layer because it’s just for positioning. This is where I think folks are getting confused and saying “it doesn’t stick”. But once you get the positioning right, you then start to peel away the rest, which is the protective layer, slowly compressing to your tat as you peel.- Now the second (protective membrane) layer is securely on your tat.- But, there’s still a third layer, and it’s kinda rigid. Start in the middle of the blue ribbon and pull back in both directions (this third layer comes away in two pieces)- Now you’re just left with that second (middle) layer that’s protecting your tat. And trust me - it sticks just fine. In 4 to 5 days, you’ll know just how well it sticks because it’s kinda hard to pull off.- don’t take it off dry and don’t peel it off.- take it off in the shower under warm water. Slowly pull it parallel to your body as the adhesive gives way. Again, don’t peel.- you’ll see a little plasma and leftover ink stick to the layer. Completely normal and is not damaging your tattoo- you also may see what looks like leftover adhesive. It’s not, that’s actually peeling skin. Gently wash the area with soap but do NOT pull any of that skin off.- once you’re out of the shower, your tat will feel dryer than a bone. Start the moisturizing process 3 times a day.- there will still be some light skin peeling for the next 5 days, but after that, your tat will look as good as new.

Simple, Clean & Effective
Wrapped around my forearm & Adhesion is Great. No issues whatsoever. Just make sure the edges are placed on dry clean skin. Will be using this moving forward for all my Ink.

Easy on skin and sticks on very well and covers well
Now this wrap is the best I’ve used and does not give a chemical burn or reaction when using ! Comes in a roll and just simply cut the size needed and apply !

Updated review
Update: after the first application went terribly, I removed it after a couple of hours. We decided to try again, and the second application seems to be performing much better after 14 hours of wear, including sleeping with no other protection on the tattoo. Maybe it was user error the first time? I’m not sure? We trimmed the corners to round them off, I think that helped a lot, as the corners were the main problems for peeling the first time, and once they started to peel the whole sheet peeled quickly. Updated to 4 starsAfter using Derm Shield in the past, this product seems to be far lesser quality. It’s about half the price. So I guess no shocker there. It’s falling off after only an hour or normal wear. Derm Shield took me 30min of actively trying to remove it before I got it off. 2 stars

Perfect for waterproofing fresh injuries or tatoos
This stuff is amazing for cover up of long sutured areas or big tattoos. I got a hip replacement and they put the bandage on with this over it so I could shower. When that one got gross, I bought this and redressed the wound. I’ve continued to use it and have been able to bathe and care for myself without trying to wrap with siran wrap or a plastic bag as suggested. Highly recommend!!!

Mediocre
Good for small spots but peels off at the slightest movement. This product is not bad per se however the adhesive is not the strongest. When bandaging areas that move or wrap (like a finger, elbow, knee, even ribs) this product would not stay adhered..Peels off easily but still manages to rip hair out

Great product
I have problems with adhesives. I bought this larger size to do a spiral cord trial. They usually tape them on and I knew my body wouldn’t be happy during and after that.

Proceed with caution
This brand seemed to work well enough with two small script tattoos I got on my forearms. It didn’t apply as smooth or seamlessly as the Saniderm that the artist applied after tattooing me, but it worked well enough. I had a much larger tattoo done on my chest recently. He wrapped my shoulder lightly in Saran Wrap and I followed his instructions of removing it when I got home and showering. This artist didn’t recommend second skin, but this product had worked well enough with the other two tattoos— and I have kids, pets, etc. So this product was applied to clean, dry skin roughly 2 hours after the tattoo was finished. The first 24 hours seemed fine with the second skin on, however the tattoo was very sore. The second day, it was still sore, but would periodically feel itchy. I assumed it was itchy because that’s part of the healing process. However, later that day it started feeling like it was burning. I removed the second skin and you can see in the photo the allergic reaction my skin had to it, as it’s bright red everywhere the second skin touched. I took some Benadryl and roughly 24 hours later, the redness has gone away (mostly). However, I will not be using this product again. I’m giving this review 2 stars simply because it did work well enough with the small script tattoos. I’m unsure if the reaction is because it’s a much larger tattoo or what other factors they may be, but I don’t feel that the benefits of second skin are worth the burning, itching and additional soreness. I’m hoping the tattoo doesn’t heal poorly because of the reaction.
