NOT your average comic book !
One of the best comic books I have read so far. The stories are only meant for mature readers, with adult concepts like depression, relationships, emotional breakdowns, sexuality, nostalgia, poverty, economy. It packs just about every genre - some stories are humorous, some are deep, some are sad, some are uplifting. They also added few pages of facts on Gekiga FX which was a cherry on top.

Great start for an anthology series!
Excellent collection of comics by Indian and Japanese authors. The essay by Ryan Holmberg about Gekiga FX and speed lines was very insightful too. I love the attention to detail, and the thought that has gone into compiling this. Look forward to the next edition.

Comic lovers unite
Love it. Great endeavour geared towards indian manga and comic lovers. I hope it becomes a monthly series soon. Will order the second edition too.

Very nice, and not your average comic anthology.
I read this (vol 1) a long time after I read vol 2. And I liked this one a lot more in terms of the production quality. With vol 3 around the corner, I hope it only keeps improving from here on.About the book itself - a very interesting anthology of gekiga manga and indie Indian comics. Unlike vol 2, I liked many of the Indian stories in this one. The manga section is as gekiga typically goes - some stories resonate with you, others don't, and those that don't may resonate at a later point when you re-read them. I haven't yet made the time to carefully read the essay included in this volume, but at a glance it seems to be really well done. Overall, I'm very impressed with this volume. This series isn't perfect in terms of content, but I don't expect it to be. Definitely going to buy subsequent volumes.

Loved it
The stories are honest and thoughtful, and the book is really well produced. If you like Indian comics and/or gekiga, this definitely deserves a place on your shelf.

Not for everyone. Comic??
Described as adult comics, I didn't find it funny.A different mind bent seems to be required to appreciate this.
