Buttons and Knobs and Lights, Oh My
I make smoothies a few times a week and it was time to retire my old $30 Oster for something more capable. This one looked to be a very worthy replacement so I ordered it. Most blenders do not actually need an instruction manual because they're not that complicated (I mostly use Off and High). This blender has a 22 page manual and over 15 buttons and a knob that goes from 0 to Max w/ pulse. It actually has "Pulse" in three different places and I don't know if there is any difference. It also has a timer with up and down lit buttons, a lit Stop/Go button and a separate lit On/Off button. It has Auto and Manual modes and too many red LED displays. The motor is not overly loud for a blender but has a strong, confident sound. There are so many settings, buttons, knobs and lights that I had to stop reading the manual and just go to what I know best which is Off and High. The programmed settings seem to cycle through timed pause, slow and fast speeds and it stops automatically. The bottom line is that even with all the technology built into this computer with blades it still leaves small chunks of ice in my smoothie no matter what method or program or knob or button or speed I use. Even my old $30 blender did better in that regard, but I'm determined to work with this machine until I figure which combination of buttons, knobs, times and functions will render the perfect smoothie. Regardless of all the pushbutton overkill, I do recommend this blender because I truly believe that once figured out, it will do just fine.

The Ultimate Challenge - Making Nut Butter and the Cleanup
Bought this blender for Wifey.Very influenced by the review that said it was better than the top of the line blenders. I was skeptical but now I'm a believer.Opened it up and set it up which is very easy. Now I had to decide what to make. Couldn't find anything but a 3/4 a bag of Trader Joes Fancy Nuts. Figured that nut butter would be the ultimate test of what it could do. After all Nuts after being ground up are gooey, super thick, and of course very sticky with poor flow.Being that this blender is only $90.00 compared to the fancy $350.00+ blenders. I was expecting the Blender to gag and puke and fail in so many ways.Chose the Automatic "Nut Butter" setting and it began to grind it up. The blending velocities automatically went from high to low and voila it turned into delicious creamy nut butter.I had read in the review about the Clean setting, so when I was done with the Nut Butter I filled it 1/2 way with water and put it on clean. After 4 minutes the preprogrammed time period. It was done cleaning and to my surprise it actually worked. No crud on or below the blades. I did have to wipe down the sides but that's way better than having to dissasemble and clean the blades.I think the reason why this blender works so well is that the cheaper blenders only have 1 set of blades. The better blenders have two sets. This blender has 3 sets and the positioning of the bottom blades appears to make a low vortex. Also the computer programming of the auto settings went from high to low giving the butter time to go down to the bottom.I'm very confident based on other reviews and passing the Nut Butter Test, it will handle anything else easily.

Excellent and Powerful Blender/Juicer +
I really like this blender. It has great power, good speed, multiple options, pulsating speeds help automatically break up big chunks like frozen fruit and ice cubes, a big container that holds plenty for mixing shakes etc..Things NOT LIKED: the lid is the most cumbersome stupid design ever, with too big of thick soft rubber, so you have to wrestle it on to the top each time, takes 30 seconds each time you need to put the lid on to make sure it is on securely or fluids will squirt out the pour spout-POOR DESIGN, the fact you cannot remove the blades apparatus (like in a Ninja or NutriBullet) make it harder to get them clean, it's also about 2" TOO TALL, won't fit under the cabinets above the countertop. Those are just nuisances that can be overlooked because the blender is really nice to use everyday for health shakes.

Leaks
Had this blender for about two years and starting to leak. I need to replace the decanter or send to have it fixed. Any suggestions?

Satisfied for the price
I have gone through blenders in the past year and a half. I am very happy with the emulsifying capability of this blender for my green smoothies. I was under the impression that I would be able to use this as a food processor, as well. I am less satisfied with that capability. Also, I wish there were more attachments (a smaller one would be helpful for food processing). Since the blades are built in to the jug, I understand why this isn't an option. I'd also love to see a glass jug eventually. Learning how to use the speed function is a bit of a learning curve. I purchased the 4 year extended warranty to protect myself against losing another blender, but for now I'm satisfied!!!

Work - ed good and then
Loved everything about this blender. We love the cleaning feature. 2 drops of dish soap and fill with water and hit clean. It cleans all by itself. It makes smoothies really well and fluffy. Very easy to use. The top is easy if you put it back on the same way each time. Lots of power and well made.Update today the blender still works great but the seal on the bottom started leaking at the bearing. We hoped Vanaheim will fix or replace it but we are going to get in touch with them because suppose to have a 1 year warren-tee. No response from them and then we tried the seller Alabama Gifts who got in touch with us and after playing email tag they got us a new one sent out in 2 weeks. They first offer a 90% refund but we like the blender just wanted one that didn't leak, which so far it does not. Letsee how long this one lasts.

Great while it lasts, support is non-existant.
Really loved this blender while it lasted. A little over the 1 year mark. I keep trying to reach customer support, but they never return emails. The bottom gasket on mine started to leak. I reached out to support for help. Nothing. A few weeks ago the bottom gave out completely and there was smoothie EVERYWHERE. That was fun to clean up... I reached out to support again asking for help. Nothing again. Maybe they'll see this and reach out. I don't want to buy a new blender, just want this one back in fighting shape.
