good extension cord
Although I have many extension cords, this is now my go-to extension cord in my wood shop.

I love this wire
Whats not to love, probably one of the toughest wires out there, flexiable down to some ungodly low temperatures. Has a nice light on the end so you can tell its plugged in (however I do wish that was slightly brighter). While this extension cord is definitely a premium over other ones out there, just by holding it in my hand I can tell its a generational cable, I see no reason why I couldnt hand this down to my kids, which its sad theres not many things out there you really can say that about.Oh did I mention its made in the good ol US of A? Yeah, I love that. You cant beat getting something made here, its just better. Murica'

"This cord is for indoor use ONLY" ??
I have been using two of these cords outside for years without problem. But....I just noticed a tag on the cord today that say it's for "indoor use ONLY" and should never be used outdoors. Seems odd that an "extreme weather" product is not intended for use outside.

Very flexible extension cord, appears very well made
I ordered two different extension cords to replace my aging Bosch 25ft 12/3 extension cord. The Bosch is the absolute best extension cord I’ve ever used, it came with one of my Bosch power tools. The Bosch is flexible to the point of being almost limp. The Bosch cords are no longer available. I ordered this US Wire “Extreme” cord. It is flexible, much more flexible than the other cord I bought, the yellow Iron Forge cord. Unwinding, this US Wire extension cord, it does have a just a tiny bit of “memory” at room temperature so doesn’t lay absolutely flat but it is very close. Thus far this US Wire cord is the most flexible cord I’ve found. Why do I like flexible cords? They coil perfectly, and they lay flat. When used with a tool that has a 120V plug directly on the tool and no cord of it’s own, the extension cord projects directly out of the tool, so a stiff cord sticks straight out of the tool (in this case, a Bosch worm drive circular saw). A stiff cord gets in the way. Anyway I’d buy this US Wire extension cord again. Something else I like about the cord is the red stripe that runs the length of the cord. An extension cord tends to pick up twists as it is coiled and uncoiled with use. The cheap generic orange cords tend to twist the wires in the sheath, they get a little lumpy. The red stripe on this one is a feature I wasn’t seeking but now I like it, it lets you see if you are adding twists. The two pictures are a day after the new cord was uncoiled from factory packaging. It isn’t perfectly flexible but it is close. I can live with this one.

Love it.
Not our coldest winter but at -40 this was still flexible (outside).

Just buy it, don't think about it.
(7Jan2022 Update) I keep buying these, exclusively. I hate everything else out there. I would consider the non oil resistant version (it would be less gummy), if I could find them anywhere. I have these in 50, 25, 15, 10 ft lengths. Several of the longer ones.(Original post)I found these from the Wirecutter article. I'm tired of mediocre gear in my garage. These things are tough, and can handle the elements. I have plenty of Wally world, Km@rt, and HD garbage extension cords. The quality of this one just blows them all away. It doesn't suffer sun damage. It can handle dirt. It doesn't get stiff when it is cold. How they get 12 gauge wire to be this soft to handle, is just awesome. My only other point of comparison is the also high quality Yellow Jacket 25ft comparable cord, and Flexzilla 10 gauge (100'). All three have the NEC code properties (SJTW). This cable is slightly gummier to handle, and will collect some dirt. But it is easily the most flexible, and soft to handle of the three brands. The Yellow jacket has the slickest outside layer. The Flexzilla is in between, slicker, but not gummy. These cables are the easiest to roll up.(Update 24Mar20) - I also bought the Yellow Jacket 50' equivalent. It isn't as sticky on the outside as this one, but I would choose this one everytime now that I have seen both. It is so much softer to work handle.

I knew it
I just received my cords. I’ve used electrical cords for a long time. I can feel how good it is in my hands. These will last for the rest of my life

Caution.
Bought two for emergency kits in our vehicles. First time the wife plugged hers in the bottom blew out. Seller would not exchange/return the cord. That said haven't had a problem with the second one, male ends seem to fit fine. Surprisingly it stayed flexible enough to roll back up down to -36. One star due to a faulty plugin and no return/exchange.
