Van Der Hagen Glycerin Shave Soap, 2.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

If you're into the sheer joy of "mug shaving", then this is the shaving soap for you! In contrast to some of the other Van Der Hagen shaving soaps (Deluxe, etc), this is most "balanced" soap they make in my opinion. Why? It's light but still slightly moisturing, latherly but not too thick, and has a scent to die for (something like a very light clean almond or something similar - my girlfriend loves it!). Put a puck of this in your shaving mug and lather up amazing creamy experience of mug shaving delight (and if you don't have a mug, but just a shaving brush, you can lather it up right in the round plastic container it sits in). I've used Van Der Hagen Glycerin Shave Soap for over five years. It lathers well and the glycerin provides a nice lubrication to the face, resulting in a close shave. Plus, a puck lasts a long time making it very economical per shave. I get at least three months (often 3.5 months) worth of shaves so the per shave cost is about $0.05 - $0.06.

Creamy and holds moisture well for a smooth shave. I have been using shaving soaps in cups since the 1970s while riding submarines. Van Der Hagen is my favorite! PS: aerosol products cannot be used on submarines.

The glycerine based soaps cover well, can be worked into a functional lather even in a dry climate, and they can be melted to properly fill your shaving bowl. VDH makes the best. That's all.

I like the aroma of the soap. Lots of room in the container I keep soap in. Last about 4 months per cake so there are a couple of years worth of soap. Does a great job in making my wiskers soft.

First used glycerin soap for shaving when my luggage was delayed on a business trip to Paris. I received a complimentary toiletries package with two small bars. They lasted me over a month. It was one of the best shaves I've ever had. I found this brand locally and have used for 15 years. I bought this pack from Amazon because the local supplier stopped carrying it. Forget the foams and gels. This is all you need, and it passes through airport security with no issues in your carry-on.

It gives a nice smooth lather for a good close shave.
