VCT USA to Europe Travel Plug Adapter Grounded German Shucko Plug (VP-11W)

I just returned from Germany and this little adapter was the most effective little thing. Although it is not universal to the entire planet, it fits snugly into the EU recepticals and leaves room for others if you happen to be using a power strip. Some of my travel companions had the big box adapters that required us to strategically place our plugs so one didn't block the others. Those of us that had these were the "easy" ones to work around because they didn't stick up, plus they fit nice and tight. The reason this is important is because outlets in EU aren't like in the states, they do not have outlets on every wall, in addition there isn't abundant space so 4 of us shared one compact conference room. I took one of these and one of the box adapters that had a USB outlet and this one worked best for our environment.

We have a friend that lives in Germany that recommended this plug to us. We have traveled to Germany,Austria and Hungary 3 times and this little plug works just great. We have used it to charge our camera,Kindle and to use our netbook without any problems.It also worked for us in Venice,Italy. We had to buy a separate plug for Switzerland which uses a 3 prong plug not a 2 prong plug.. The only problem was we bought 6 to take on our European vacation and returned with only one! We kept on leaving them behind! Thank goodness they didn't cost too much. Keep the plug on the ends of everything that you are using on your trip when you take it out of the electrical outlet. This way you won't leave your plugs behind.Buy one for everything you are using on your trip.

It's perfect to use as a permanent connector. Plug it into the original plug of your device, connect it to the jack, and forget about it. Very cheap, so you can afford to buy a dozen of them for various devices.The only downside I can think of, the fact that if you don't use it as a permanent connector (i.e. you need to unplug it every now and then), the connector likes to stick in the jack while you pull your device plug off it. So you have to pull the connector from the jack as well. Wish the connector's holes are a little tighter so they can grab the plugs stronger.

I like this plug adapter because it's small enough to carry around and it's pretty solid. Some travel adapters don't stay in sockets very well because they are made of cheap plastic. This one is a little larger and more substantial that most of the ones I have found.However don't leave it laying on the floor in the dark. When you step on it, you will curse the object that lets you charge all of your smart devices in Europe.All in all I had no trouble with this adapter for my cell phone, tablet, and laptop charging needs.

I got a bunch of these for my extended European adventure. They seemed to have a nice design. The problem is that they are not build very well, the inside metal parts are very weak and often get out of alignment. Some of them were twisted before I tried to use them, some of them bent the first time a tried to plug in a device. overall about half gave me problems. if you will keep something permanently plugged in, it's not going to be a big issue, but if you will plugging things in and out, it will be. The other (smaller) issue is that they don't actually fit powerstrips that well. I imagined that they would be flush with the top of the strip, but instead they stick out a bit.With all that, they may be the best deal you can find :)

This is just a plug adapter, not a transformer for voltage. Not everything converts from 110V to 240V automatically. If your device switches automatically, then these are great. You just plug your US device into this and you can plug it into a EU outlet with no problem.

Only gave 4 stars since I haven't used it yet but it is perfect for grounded appliances that you need to plug in while you travel Europe (except for Switzerland). Be sure you know that while this is properly grounded, it does not convert European 220 current down to US 110 current so make sure you use a proper converter or that your device is dual voltage. Most laptop computers are dual voltage as are travel devices. This is much easier to travel with & use than the bulky multi-country adapters if you do not need power conversion.

Works in German AC outlets exactly as hoped for. I cannot speak for other European countries where rounded Shucko format electrical outlets may exist. This adapter always travels with me to Europe now. To maintain some protection of the prongs while packed into luggage, I keep it inside the seller's shipping container it came in. I later bought another one of these as a gift for a friend. They found it quite useful too. There is not much else to state here. It is reasonably sturdy, if you wonder about that. Be sure the items you intend to plug into this adapter state: "AC 100-240v / 50-60Hz" on their plug.
