Good and bad news for this device. Yes, it's well built and locks into place tightly. However, if you pull on it, to remove your phone, it's probably coming out of your cup holder. NO matter how wide you expand it into the spot.However, if you are going to put it in it and forget it, this will work great. Just plan to push down on the base, when you are pulling your device out of it. If you have a super thick phone or case, it might not hold it tightly. We do like that both ends are open, for the charging cable to be easily plugged in. I have a 2012 Nissan Murano. The cup holders are large, but this fits, no problem!It easily supports both of my devices, but I rarely use the tablet in the car. I needed an Android Auto device, and the window-mounts and dash-mounts didn't work in the Texas heat.Assembly is a breeze - you put the 'ring' over the metal rod, snap the other plastic half onto the ball, and then screw it as tight as you need to keep it from moving. In the car, you then twist the base of the mount, while in the cup holder, and then you keep rotating until the walls extend and provide a secure fit.I really like having my dash and window unobscured, and it down near the shifter. It is super snug and doesn't move over rough roads or harsher stops.I would recommend this to anyone looking to secure their larger devices!

In cars that don't come with navigation, this cup holder stand comes in super handy! It's durable and great quality. Haven't had issues with it yet!

This is being used with an iPad mini and it works great in a backseat cupholder for the kids. It is very sturdy and easy to manipulate. I have no reason to believe that this thing won't last a while under normal usage.

I have gone through so many different car holders for iPhones and iPads. Most of them were not good at all in a few were OK but wore out quickly. This one is spot on perfect it’s durable enough to hold an iPhone or an iPad at top and it locks down super secure and then the bottom lock sound tight as well. Then when you don’t need it it comes out easily and does not take up a massive amount of room to store it. Oh and it was a great price also compared to what I paid for a lot of the other ones I’ve tried.

Fits very well in the cup holder, holds my iPad tightly. When travelling it keeps the iPad secure, very little movement when the vehicle is in motion.

I would buy it again without hesitation.
