At first I was put off by the time it needs to stay on your hair -15 to 20 min, compared to similar shampoos that only need to stay on 5-10 minutes. But then I looked at it as an as an alternative to hair color, which takes even longer, but this doesn't smell as bad and doesn't have ammonia. This product provides good grey coverage that lasts a while. I've gotten a number of compliments on the actual color (I purchased light brown), it blends with my hair color very nicely. The shampoo does not smell like coconut at all, which is a plus for me. For the retail price of 2 hair color boxes, this shampoo will last many colorings - i've already used it twice and the bottle is probably 2/3rds full. I do wish it came with more than 1 pair of gloves as those are not reusable and every use needs a pair.

I ordered this product Thinking that it was regular shampoo It was actually hair dying shampoo No fault of the product, However even though I didn't get a chance to use it seeing as I do not want to dye my hair , I ended up gifting it To somebody who actually wanted to dye their hair and they stated that it was very easy to use It's very effective and the scent is pleasant However It can be quite messy seeing as it's a hair dye product Best to do in the shower

I think I last colored my hair as a teenager. Just a shampoo in, and it was nothing special. Fast forward many, many years. Starting to show gray at the temples (which hubby loves), and it looked ok, but I wanted a change. My hair is medium to dark brown, and I got the wine red. I have short hair--I probably wouldn't try this with long hair.When I first opened it, I thought it smelled really bad, but amazingly, the smell disappears relatively quickly. It's two liquids in one bottle--you pump it out and mix it in your hand. Interesting. But as I haven't colored my hair in a generation, maybe that's the way it's done. Anyway, mixed and applied. Did a test strip first to make sure my scalp was OK, and then did the rest.You rub it on your hair and wait 20 minutes. By the time you put it on your head, the smell is gone. I was also surprised it didn't drip.The color is very nice on my brown hair. It gives it a slight burgundy tint, which I love. I'll report back if I have any issues after the fact, but I'm impressed so far.

Buyer beware! I bought this for my husband who was interested in dying his hair a few shades of brown/brunette darker than what he had. He was pretty excited to use this product, the instructions were easy to follow, he did things exactly as the instructions laid out (I assisted just to be double sure). He lathered it on, waited the appropriate amount of time, and when my husband got out of the shower with burned hair! It not only fried his hair, it also made it lighter (I guess it had some bleach component in it?). He was so bummed, he is not happy with his hair at all right now, and is currently just waiting for this mess to grow out. I was so disappointed, and so was he!
