D and D Mythic Odysseys of Theros
Bit of a second hand review since the book was a Christmas gift for 20 year old Granddaughter.Apparently D&D still holds a great attraction for that age group, despite the other student attractions on offer!Since her nose was buried in the book as soon as she had opened it and stayed there for many hours afterwards I must assume it was a great success!

"Greek" sourcebook for DND 5E
A 2020 'greek' themed release for ongoing campaigns in D&D 5th Edition. Clocking in at 256 pages it bursting at the seems on information.I have to mention the artwork first, its a delight to behold.Races available are the Centaur, Leonin, Minotaur, Satyr & Triton.A nice breakdown of the pantheon of Theros.A good collection of the realms surrounding the area and lore found within them. Some 50 odd pages dedicated to helping you craft your adventures for your group. 15 area with high quality maps, plots, hooks and such. Some good information on how to run water & underworld type adventures in it.A ten page adventure, which looks like it would take somewhere between 3 and 6 hours to complete depending on group siize and playstyle.51 pages of monsters new and old, its fair to say that of the new monster a good proportion are reworked old monsters. Monsters that have already appeared in the Monster Manual have no stat blocks in this book but rather only the new monsters.I know I already mentioned the artwork but it truly is great. This book is a fantastic addition to any DM source library. Its fairly well rounded and has a ton of stuff for old and new DM's alike.I am grateful to have it in my library!

Disappointed
I thought this would be excellent. It has lovely artwork and is nicely layed out. But it is rather lame. No great player character tweaks, rather clichéd deities and flat monsters. Some of the 3rd parties do this kind of setting far better

Good but hardly essential and much is superseeded.
Its ok but some of the rules presented have already been superseeded for example some of the rules on races (eg centaurs and satyrs), or have faded into obscurity for example the rules on piety. The best contribution overall in my mind was mythic monsters. As with many modules no additional material has been created, though dragonlords may well be worth looking into for inspiration.

** review of Amazon’s warehouse service, not WOTC** Item arrived damaged
The book content itself is worthy of five stars, and ideal for any 5e DnD game, but this review is about how the item was packed by Amazon in their warehouse/courier service. The book was clearly brand new and in pristine cardboard packaging, but nevertheless has significant noticeable scoring and scratching on the back cover. This is not the first time this has happened with DnD books bought on Amazon. We pay a lot for these items and when we report them Amazon always asks for a return, which is frankly too much hassle, so often we end up keeping defective books we paid 20-30 pounds for. I can’t help but feel a bit stupid.
