Wooden toys such as these have advantages and disadvantages compared to plastic. This set looks nice and should be highly durable. However, it also means the pieces are heavier and harder, so when inevitably thrown by a toddler they have more force and thus better chance for damage. As a grandparent, you also worry more about the exact composition of the paint used - when they are chewed.All that said, this is a nice set. Looks good and is well finished, with many pieces. The pieces are a bit on the small side (but not so small as to worry about choking hazard - despite the legal warning). We opted not to let our grandchild play with the wooden knives and forks (not sharp but pointy), but the spoons and spatulas are nice, as are the cooking pots. I would estimate this set is better for younger toddlers (3-ish), rather than older kids. Overall, a large, somewhat spendy set, but durable.

Watching my toddler play cook using this has been one of the cutest things I’ve seen in a long time. It gives them a chance to get used to using their own hands to chop things and learn different veggies and meats. It is so cute and so sturdy too! I definitely recommend this!!

I got these to include in the grandkids’ options for play at my house. Nice set, vibrant colors, and should be easy to keep clean.I foresee many hours of fun and imaginative play with this set!

Nice set of wood play food. I've been moving away from buying plastic so these worked out pretty well for us. Sturdy and painted well. These provide hours of fun for my kiddos.

I got this for my grandkids, ages 3 & 5, and they love it! We opened the box this weekend when they were both over for a visit and I am impressed by the quality. The wood is solid and smooth, you can feel it has a decent weight to it. The colors are vibrant and everything is painted neatly. My daughter and I like how some of the pieces connect magnetically instead of with velcro like we've seen with some other pretend food sets. The grandkids got right to work making delicious dishes for all of us, lol. It's a great addition to a child's pretend kitchen!

Nearly perfect. Only one utensil had missing paint, other than that it is a great set. The granddaughters are going to flip next time they come over. Set for two to play at once. Nice wooden plates, utensils and food items are very good looking. Well made, but the knifes may be a bit on the sharp side for a 3 year old, which is the recommended age.

This is really cute. It's well packaged ( all pieces were individually wrapped ) and well made. All solid wood ( not particle board ) and nicely painted. This is going to stay at Grandma's House and will always be a special treat and memory, and will be passed down for generations. Funny how the simple, basic, well crafted toys stand the test of time. Great gift too.
