Gardman Water Drinker

I've never once seen any birds use this on my feeding station, yet the birds must be using it because the water quickly goes down and it's not summertime where water evaporates and nothing else ever visits except the birds. It's easy to clean and refill, sturdy, solid plastic that doesn't lose its shape or shatter if dropped, looks lovely on my balcony, and the water stays fresh. Sometimes I see a few tiny dead flies laying in the blue saucer part, but it doesn't go into the main bottle. I just simply tip the water out the saucer part, give it a little shake, and fresh water is on the saucer again. It's well-designed. I've had it for several months now and I'm still happy with it. I definitely recommend it as one of those must-haves for the bird feeding station.

I've always just used a bowl for drinking water on my garden feeder, but it appeared to be getting used as a toilet by pigeons!So I bought this, and haven't looked back.Because it only releases enough water to part-fill the blue tray, the birds can't bath in it, the pigeons can't poo in it, and it stays clean for ages. We went away for a week, left it filled up, and the water was still clear when we came back.If you love your garden birds, this is a great buy.

Good size, so plenty of water & slowly releases water into the bowl. Personally,I have found that they do eventually ‘age’ harden in the sunlight & the plastic bottle will eventually harden up & can crack if squeezed slightly or during cleaning. However, they should easily last over a year.

Was not overly pleased with the performance of this bottle, did not really work for us, so now it's been removed :(

This is such a great product 4 the birds. So pleased with it. Birds seem to love it. Water refills as birds have a drink. Would Defo recommend.

Fits description and does the job

This item replaced an effective aluminium and glass water feeder that broke, small birds used it continuously throughout the year. I placed this item in exactly the same position, height etc. After several months I am yet to witness a single bird using this feeder.It is surprisingly difficult to fill if you hang it permanently fixed by the hanging ring to a tree branch etc, The feeder comprises a small plastic bottle, the bottle top is saucer shaped and once in situ it acts as both perch and small pool of water. The idea is that as a bird springs off the saucer after drinking it displaces the water thereby cleaning debris and allowing fresh water to replenish the saucer from the bottle. So far it just collects leaves etc as birds prefer to take their chances with the cats by drinking from a nearby bird bath. I shake the saucer clean daily, water doesn't easily fill it from the bottle, so the problem may be that there are long spells when the saucer is empty even though there is water in the bottle.I suspect that should the feeder work as intended, the bottle would empty very quickly.

Having thought it woud be easy to make one of these out of an old bottle......I found it wasn't.This product is great value for money, it works, way to fill, and the birds love the fresh supply of water.Only downside is that it empties quick on a windy day - so you ave to keep am eye on it.

Parfait pour suspendre à une branche ou sur un portique à oiseaux, Gardman, ou d'une autre marque.Petite précision pour ceux qui indiquent que l'eau ne s'écoule pas suffisamment, c'est normal, c'est fait exprès même.Voilà comment procéder : remplir la bouteille poser le récipient dessus, visser à fond sans forcer, retourner l'ensemble, dévisser légèrement ( 1 à 2 tours, pas plus) et appuyer légèrement sur la bouteille pour remplir le récipient (ensuite ça se re-remplit tout seul par le principe des vases communicants et par capillarité).Ça fonctionne très bien et le récipient n'est jamais "à sec" (euh ... si quand la bouteille est vide).Penser à changer l'eau régulièrement même avant que la bouteille ne soit vide car ces messieurs-dames Piou-Piou ont tendance à se retourner après avoir bu pour laisser une petite trace de leur passage. Nous quand on est contents on signe le livre d'or, eux ils ont une manière très personnelle de marquer leur satisfaction. Sympa pour ceux qui suivent !A noter qu'en hiver rien n'éclate et que dès que la température redevient clémente ou qu'un rayon de soleil illumine l'abreuvoir, l'eau redescend dans la gamelle.Par très grand froid ne pas hésiter à mettre de l'eau chaude (pas brulante, on ne veut pas cuire des pâtes non plus), ça leur donne quelques heures pour s'abreuver avant que l'eau ne gèle.C'est en hiver, par grand froid, que les oiseaux meurent le plus souvent de soif. Ottimo prodotto, spedizione sempre puntuale come sempre, la plastica del prodotto è abbastanza buona, resistente a piccoli urti tra i rami, unica piccola pecca il gancio di metallo passa in un pezzo DI plastica troppo piccolo
