Zippers CAN be fixed!
I have a winter coat whose zipper will no long stay up, and my husband had a favorite down jacket whose zipper would open up while being worn (so he stashed the jacket in a closet 2 years ago and refused to throw it out). He decided to try this zipper repair kit and was able to rescue his beloved jacket AND fixed my coat also. I'm rather proud of him for even trying, let alone succeeding.

Found out that my Zipper was not #5 it is #4.5. Learned something new!
Unfortunately this kit did not work for my zipper. I thought zippers only came in #3, #5, #7. I had never heard of a 4.5 mm zipper before. I found out that my zipper is a 4.5 mm, not a 5. The return was very easy.It's a nice kit and easy to use if your zipper is a #5. Measure the slide. If the width of the slide is 7 - 8 mm, outer edges, or about 6mm INSIDE the slide, then the #5 slide should work for you zipper.To JMJ whose jacket zipper was ruined by the zipper slide, a good seamstress can replace the entire zipper. Your jacket will be as good as new. (I do those kind of repairs).
