Easy to use. Does the job.

Asked my daughter for one for Christmas since my powered one was 3000 miles away at my nephews' house. I left it there since there was more use for it there in Eden Mills. This model works well and despite needing manual work to operate the hydraulics it is absolutely easy and effective. I would reccommend it unless you have a large quantity of connections to make or have difficult to reach connections. If I had only 20 crimp connections in easy to reach locationss this would be the ticket! but hundreds or long term use, the powered version of the tool would be the right tool for the job.

The tool is well made and does what it is designed to do. You do need room to work and some arm strength to work it. The tubing cutter cuts clean but you must watch how you roll it around the tube. If it slides any it will thread down the tube and cut uneven. The sleeve cutter works well but if you cut too hard and damage sealing lip on your fitting it will leak. I used all brass fittings and had to redo one so I cut the sleeve and tubing at the same time. I pulled the pipe off the fitting and noticed a small nick in the sharp ring in the middle of the fitting. Installed the new pipe and it leaked just a little. Took it back apart and smoothed out the nick and put just a little pipe dope in that area. Connected the pipe to the fitting and it sealed. Time will tell if this fix will hold. The sleeve cutter does come with 3 spare blades but the tubing cutter does not have a spare.

Good middle ground between the ultra-cheap (and awful) manual expanders and the pricey power tool options. Autorotation works great. The included pipe cutter is pretty lousy. Overall, it's easy to use and connections are all holding water.

Great tools for the price.

Do not buy this if you are doing a lot of connections.

This tool does exactly what it says… makes perfect leak-free PEX-A terminations. I was expecting it to be harder to use, but it’s not that bad. The first couple of “cranks” take effort, but nothing crazy. The auto rotation also works as advertised.I would not want to use this to terminate a new-house-worth of PEX-A fittings, but for the one offs around the house it’s perfect.
