Nothing short of extraordinary!
When the Japanese set out to make something, quality really does seem to be the priority. They build up to a standard rather than down to a price. I'm an engineer/machinist and a huge tool nerd and a can honestly say these are nothing short of beautiful! The fit and finish is flawless! The jaws are truly sharp and the edges meet perfectly. Very clean cut on plastics and they're perfect for cutting off the excess on zip ties as they don't leave any jagged bits of plastic behind. They're fine for copper too but not really their intended purpose. Perfect for model makers. The blocky over moulded handles are surprisingly comfortable and the machining is absolutely perfect! Every single edge has been chamfered so as not to be sharp but the bevels are so incredibly fine, you almost can't see them with the naked eye! You can however feel them. Frankly, I'm at a loss as to how they make any profit at these prices!! World class stuff! I'll be going to this brand for all my small pliers. Engineer is the manufacturer responsible for Vamplier products which are equally well made. Beautiful!!

Quality Cutter - at a snip
Product : Micro-nipper side cutter NP-05By : ENGINEERPrice paid : Just over £17Delivery : On timeCondition : NewOther : ESD safeGood points : To summarise - everything. To be specific :-A relatively large mass of carbon steel to give stability but cut, ground and presumably lapped to give precision cutting edges. The handles are covered with a soft, electrostatically safe grip that fits snugly in the hand. The side cutter jaws are connected together by a flush ground pin. There is no play in the pin either side to side or up and down.No sharp edges or burrs anywhere on the cutters - except where the sharp edges should be of course. The build quality is typical Japanese high grade precision. When I first opened the side cutters I was not sure that they would do the job they were advertised as being able to do - to precisely cut plastic model parts off the sprue without ruining the part - among other things. They managed the job with ease, as good as, if not better than a scalpel because the scalpel flexes where these cutters don't.Bad points : None, and I don't think there will be - they look like they will last forever.Excellent value for money.Would definitely purchase again.

If you're questioning, don't hesitate
I was really not sure about spending even this much on snips (which are relatively cheap compared to some of the true "premium" brands).I looked at a lot of other bundles that I could get for similar prices or even less with a bunch of other tools included. The trouble is that these sets are all cheap chinese bits that don't really work. All the extra files and extras you'd be getting are awful and ultimately counter-productive/a waste of money.I'm so happy I just went with these instead. They fit nicely in the hand. Allow a close and accurate cut. And they slice like going through butter. No resistance at all and the models are left with very clean snips needing minimal to no cleanup. Can't recommend enough. Great brand and a very strong candidate beyond the "basics" range but without having to spend truly premium money. I'd buy them again immediately if I lost these.

Affordable and Reliable
Read some previous reviews and opted for a pair of these nippers for my model making. They are affordable and relivable so much so that I decided to buy another pair. Great for removing model parts from spruces 😀👍🏽

Really good for model kits
Bought these to cut out parts from runners for my model kits. Work really well, of course you can get better out there, but value for money they are great, really easy and comfortable to use. Been using them over the last 6 months and they are still going strong and have not had any issues with them. Blades are still sharp and cut as good as they did when I first bought them.

A perfect addition for any hobbyist's toolkit or professional. Engineer tools are always of a high standard and perfect for use.

best upgrade I have made
As far as cutters go for model making I don't think you can do better without spending 3-4x the price, sharp and comfortable to use the two blades meet perfectly with no light gap and for sprues at least it remains sharp for a long time (can't comment on wire its not what I use it for)

Ideal for Building Plastic Models
I bought these to replace some cheap and nasty nippers I'd been using in plastic modelling for a while. I'm very impressed with the quality and the ease of use. Pieces come away from the sprue with ease and very little material remaining to be sanded or sliced off. Nice and precise.I'd firmly recommend these to anyone wanting a solid tool for building plastic models. You could pay £50 for an enthusiast's pair but I'm not convinced that's good value for money.
