Two Years, Then Got Myself a Second Pair
First off, as Danner says, size down a half size. I generally wear 10.5, but 10 in Danner boots. Now that’s said, I’m a light-framed dude who’s hauled my kids around on kid backpacks, hiked my local parks on the weekends, and done some moderate level backpacking all while in my Mountain 600s for two years. As an avid hiker and backpacker, I’ve owned Asolo and Merrill full-grain leather boots in the past, and as a runner, ASICS and Mizuno are equally my favorites for fit and feel for the roads. Danner Mountain 600 is now my favorite hiking boot. I just bought my second pair new. I bought my first pair moderately used on eBay (the saddle tan pictured) and then wore them for two years before buying a second pair new without the box on Amazon Warehouse.I find these boots to be flexible for grip on wet, rocky ascents (Chimney Tops in GSMNP with my 2 year old boy on my back) — the flexibility is close to a trail running shoe — with just enough bulk to not feel uncomfortable on a jagged trail. I’ve hiked in both hot and cold with Darn Tough hiking socks (pictured) with comfort in all temperatures. I’d venture to say you could probably play a game of pickup basketball on the blacktop in these and turn around and pack in 35 pounds of weight into a backcountry camp all while staying nimble, stable, and comfortable. I’ve also been comfortable doing yard work and bucking up trees in them. That said: five stars. My saddle tan took linseed oil well; they’re pictured next to my new pair without a clean up or recent oil.I bought a different color (rich brown) the second go ‘round, because I found them on sale in the Amazon Warehouse. If I’d spent the money, I’d gotten saddle tan again — strictly for their look.Anyhow, if you’ve worn trail running shoes and full grain leather hiking boots, these fit like a perfect mashup. Compared to my stuff-soled Asolo’s that also had Vibram outsoles, the Danners grip the ground much better with their flexibility, and that’s why I prefer the Danners.

High quality boot
This boot is an excellent product. It is very comfortable right out of the box, fits true to size, and is constructed with attention to detail. The boot is nicely finished, and looks better in the hand than in the pictures. I haven't had it out on a trail yet, but the sole seems to provide excellent traction and is very stable. Given past experience with Danner boots I expect that it will be highly satisfactory.

Fit is fine and shoe is comfortable
Don't like to buy shoes online (who does, right?) but these fit very well and are extremely comfortable. I have some foot problems due to injuries and have a hard time finding a shoe that is comfortable to wear. These feel really fine with good support and not pinching toes.

Great hiking shoes
Great hiking shoes. I wore them on the 30 mile Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas. My only complaint was when I had to cross a couple of rivers and ended up getting my feet soaked. I should have changed into my water shoes. But the shoes are really comfortable, great for hiking long hikes up hill or flat. Agility isn't impaired, and good ankle support.

Comfy but breaks down easily
First off, I love this boot. It’s the most comfortable “casual” hiking boot I’ve ever worn. It would be great for 5-10 mile easy to moderate hikes. It’s not suited for super difficult or long hikes, but could be great for what it’s for. Notice how is said “could be”...Unfortunately, after approximately 20 or so miles on these boots, the right one has started squeaking badly. Very very loudly and super distracting. Furthermore, I noticed this morning that the front stitching on the left boot is starting to come apart. This is very disappointing as I feel like I’ve barely used these. They are really only at the point when they should be getting broken in, not breaking down. And I’m not a big guy buy any means so these are likely just poorly made. While these are so incredibly comfortable, I don’t think I’d buy another pair. At least not for any kind of hiking. Good for casual use around the house and for errands at best.

Great boots, even if your a fat guy!!
Love these boots. Hiked the Appalachian Trail in March. I had cheap boots in the past. I am 6 foot 250 lbs, with normal arches, with left foot supinating. These boots, you can feel that it's a rock, but you can't feel the rock, if that makes sense. It's super comfortable, like walking on regular pavement. I really hope they don't fall apart at the seams as I have read about. I love them too much.

Excellent fit, function and look
I came so close to getting Salomon's or Merrells. I'm so glad I got the Danners. The fit is so comfortable, with good support. They feel athletic, not clunky at all. Cool looking, too, a retro look, not all rubber and layers and colors. I can wear this in the woods, at work and hanging out. So glad I got these Danners instead of other good brands. wouldn't have been as pleased. These are the ones for me.
