6 year old nephew loved them!
My nephews love Pokemon cards. The older one wanted to play the game, but his brother did not want to play. While I played the game with the older one the younger laid his cards out on the floor and talked about which cards he already owned and which ones were new to him and what he knew about the characters from the cartoons. Good purchase.

Great for beginners
I was just starting with Pokémon when I bought this, and found it great. However a few months down the line realise it’s not up to scratch if playing Pokémon TCG competitively, as you need the latest cards. But for a beginner, or a card collector, it’s a great start.
