Great information!
I was skeptical at first but when I opened it and started reading it helped make things in the accounting world more digestible. I bought the tools as well. Very happy with this as part of my library, and helping me be more savvy in the accounting side of my small biz.

Great book for absolute beginners
Great book, I love how it slowly walk you into accounting practices, using words and structures you can imaging and practice. Then explain the names of the concept. For example using colored boxes to explain debits and credits.

Worth every penny :)
A well written concise book about basic & some advanced accounting of how to properly fiscally operate a business. The book explains very well on how money comes in, stays & leaves a business. The book also adds example analysis of business's that practice all types of accounting, from how Walmart manages it's inventory to how Lehman brothers liquidated their assets, I'm very impressed with this book. As a creative type myself, this books give an amazing color identification process of explanation of expenses, assets, liabilities, equity, income etc. A fun read as well, I couldn't put it down. I wish the author could come with a follow up book on the same color coat basis but for advanced accounting like "The Joy of Accounting 2 business addition" or "high finance addition". I will be the first in line to purchase it. The book is must have for every person or families book shelf on the joy of organizing your books and seeing you business grow. Love this book.

Author Can't Explain Basic Ideas Without Excessive Explanations
16 pages into this book and there is a common theme at play here: the author can't properly explain anything in a short concise manner. Refer to page 12-15 to see an exact example of this. How many times can the author repeat that "assets are anything valuable". Something that the reader can understand in 1 sentence was somehow carried out for 4 pages. Not excited to see how the rest of the book plays out. This book should've been titled: "Accounting Explanations for Third Graders"

I Finally Understand Accounting
If you're like me and need to understand the concepts behind things before you can really understand them, then just buy this book. You will not regret it.If you're not like me and would rather jump straight to the 'rules' and don't need or care to know why the rules exist, then there are likely better options for you.It took me about two days to read the entire book and do the exercises, and at the end, I finally understood accounting at its most fundamental level. This is not a book on 'financial', 'managerial', 'cost', or 'tax' accounting. Rather, it explains accounting from first principles and will give you the bedrock of knowledge you need to understand and apply accounting methods. It should be the textbook for 'accounting 101' in all schools. Can't recommend it highly enough.
