Eight O'Clock CoffeeOriginal Whole Bean, 12-Ounce Bag (Pack of 4)

I started using this coffee because of a consumer magazine's ratings of it; they said it was very good stuff, and lo and behold, it is. I buy from Amazon because of three main reasons: first, the price is right--shipping is free, and the price is competitive. Second, I can't find this coffee in Northern California (where I live) as none of the grocery stores seem to carry it. Third, they automatically ship it two you at intervals you select (I started with every two months, now I'm at every three months). It's a high quality coffee, full of flavor, and the packaging (like most of the better coffees) tends to prolong the quality. I am somewhat of a connoisseur of coffee; I grind my coffee and I use a French press to get maximum flavor. I highly recommend the coffee and buying through Amazon.com.(and no, I don't get a percentage, this is an honest appraisal for the reasons I listed above).

We received a DeLonghi Espresso maker from our kids. We tried every expensive coffee that our stores provided. We had drank Eight O'Clock coffee while in Alabama and it was good. We kept comparing all the other coffees we'd purchased and they didn't measure up. Only 2 stores carried the Eight O'Clock here in our small town and then they quit. I was amazed to find it on Amazon and quickly signed up to have it shipped regularly. Even with the strongest cup espresso that our machine can produce, the coffee is never bitter, but strong and always smooth-tasting. With the subscribe and save you end up paying for 3, but getting 4, compared to the price at the store, and that includes shipping. Thank you for such a wonderful whole-bean coffee product.

Based on our own comparisons and consumer reports, we've been drinking 8 o'clock coffee for several years now (whole bean, original or colombian) and I'm always looking for a good price. The best I usually do at the store is around $4.75 a bag, and sometimes I have a coupon that gets it down to $4.25. Buying it thru amazon under a subscription is slightly cheaper and I don't pay sales tax. This is the only item so far that has made sense for us to do a subscription, but it works great-- I can change the delivery date anytime, increase, decrease, etc. I highly recommend this coffee for everyday morning joe, and also the subscription service.

I buy this regularly from Amazon. I have given more then a few reviews on this coffee. I am in hopes that many people will give up their overly expensive coffee to try this brand. I use to walk the old A&P supper markets as a kid and loved the smell of this coffee being ground in the stores coffee grounding machines. I stopped using this brand for a long time and after reading consumers report went to retry this brand. It is good and cost much less the the so called quality coffees. Yes recommend this product.

I grind my own beans and got tired of the same old stuff, I started blending 2 brands together when grinding and come up with interesting flavors. every time I buy coffee I get different brands and mix them.Right now I'm into 8 O Clock and Folgers, next it'll be another mix, NEVER had a bad mix and always improved the taste.BTW, I'm not a person to spent big bucks for a cup of coffee, I like it brewed at home.

Consumption

This old standby coffee delivers old standby taste: workman like and suitable for most tastes. It's got some nuance but not enough to call it outstanding.When it comes to coffee and some the subtle flavors it hides, pre-roasted, mail order types have a tough time standing up against locally fresh roasted and home ground.But, still, I'd drink it.

Fantastic, fresh and flavorful...this is a morning staple in my household and always at an affordable price.Update: Unfortunately, in a move similar to gas prices, the price of the 4-pack original whole bean blend has increased more than $10.00 from a few months ago (it is now $26.78 with subscribe and save). This excellent coffee is no longer affordable. Why the substantial increase when other Eight O'Clock beans are still at the $15.53 subscribe and save price?
