The Nightmare Before Christmas Tarot Deck and Guidebook Gift Set

I really enjoy working with this deck.Visual: The visual art is amazing. I love the wood block print feel that Tomas Hijo gave it. That combined with the color palette gives it a very Otherworld meets medieval impression that feels true to the essence of the world of Labyrinth without copying the art style of the movie's original conceptual artist, Brian Froud. The titles of the cards are bold and easy to read.Tactile: If you are an overhand shuffler, you may find the matte card stock sticking a bit (especially at first). Especially, since the edges have the tiniest downturn curl to them...which makes me wonder if the coating is eventually going to peel. I haven't seen evidence of it yet, so I'm hoping not.If you are a riffle shuffler, you are going to enjoy this a lot. It's a great size and has great flexibility, enough to riffle and bridge easily. The matte coating keeps the cards from sliding all over the place as well.Writing: The writing is succinct and to the point. It seems to speak a practical language for everyday sorts of questions. If you're looking for something with deeply spiritual flowery writing...this one doesn't speak that language.Appreciation: I really appreciate some of the obscure references ( I would suggest picking up "A Field Guide to Goblins: The Goblin Companion" by Brian Froud and Terry Jones ). The attention and care to detail actually surprised me. I really love it.Improvement: The only thing I could even offer isn't even a critique, but rather a suggestion. This is a pip deck and most pip decks make me think of Marseille, It would have been a nice nod to order the Majors in the Marseille way (although, I completely understand that most people know and love the RWS system and it would resonate with more people that way).Overall: I adore this deck. As a LONG time tarot appreciator and even LONGER Labyrinth fan, I'm really happy with the way this deck turned out. That's it, it's awesome.

Saw them and had to grab them for my wife for an anniversary present! She loves them! They are very high quality with such beautiful art!

To begin, I am not a Tarot expert and I had never purchased a deck otherwise. I agree with over reviewers that the main characters are drawn well on the Major Arcana, with thoughtful arrangement around the cards they’re intended to represent. The Jack/Queen/King/Joker cards of the Minor Arcana are also well done, and interesting. That said, like others mentioned, the integer based cards of the Minor Arcana are quite simple and feel uninspired. I looked at traditional decks and others are in fact more detailed and imaginative unlike the ones in this set.That said, if you’re buying this because you like Labyrinth, you’ll likely be satisfied. If you’re an experienced Tarot reader, this might disappoint.On a last note, my deck shuffles fine. The card stock isn’t super thick, but it isn’t paper thin either and seems a good weight. More than an index card, for instance, but not like heavy stock watercolor paper.

Yes!! I finally received this deck as I had it preordered since the beginning. This deck is well thought out contrary to another review, it is a typical pip style deck but it is actually a beautiful and well thought out. The deck and the guide book is easy to decipher even for a beginner. The imagery is gorgeous and I like the stripes on the inside of the box which match Toby's onesie from the Movie. I laughed so hard with a few of the cards from the deck, SUPER cute with the names and imagery. 😆 It's truly a must have for a fan of the movie and a tarot collector alike. I actually think this deck is better then most pip style decks I've purchased in the past especially since the guide book makes this an easy to understand tarot deck even though it's a pip style deck. My only complaint is that I would have really enjoyed seeing a card that included both Sarah and the Goblin King together in one card. They are both included but not together in one card. It would have been nice to see the dance scene or the end scene. They could have made the dancers card to include Sarah and the Goblin King together or a picture of them with the end scene where there was the clock and the time was running out. Whyyy? Okay, I'm nit picking because they had such chemistry that it would have been great to see a card like that. Haha. Regardless, I'm glad I purchased this deck and would buy it again. 💜

Não tenho do que reclamar das ilustrações que o deck tem, são belíssimas, e as cartas são de boa qualidade, bem firmes. As ilustrações trazem vários dos personagens que aparecem no filme, inclusive os goblins menores do castelo do Jareth, então achei uma gracinha. Eles fazem as associações entre como os personagens são no filme com as cartas no livro, então se você viu o filme trocentas vezes, vai apreciar relacionar os arcanos com eles. Os únicos problemas que vi são que nem todos os arcanos menores são desenhados, o que é uma pena; e outra coisa é que achei as cartas grandes demais nas minhas mãos, tive dificuldade de embaralhar. Talvez não seja o deck pra aprender tarot, mas é ótimo pra colecionar. Valeu o investimento.

I read bad reviews about this deck being a pip deck, its just a version of the tarot de Marseille wich is a classic french tarot still use today. Its a great way to learn if you love the movie like me and the card stock is fantastic. Mate and very bendy, very soft feels I love to shuffle it and feel each card, their beautyful! Card might stick together when you shuffle them but its normal with the superbe mate finish. Just ruffle shuffle them its perfect for that!

L'emballage est de très bonne qualité tout comme les cartes. J'ai vraiment eu un coup coeur ❤️ pour le style de l'artiste(Tomas hijo), les dessins sont magnifiques.Le choix des scènes et des personnages pour chaque arcanes est pertinents par rapport à ses derniers et leurs rôles dans le film original. Et ont ressent vraiment l'ambiance du film à travers le jeu.
