After soaking overnight in 1% HCl, air-drying, then autoclaving, this beaker works perfectly for our lab. As with any thin-walled glass container, it will inevitably break or crack, and when it does, I plan on purchasing again.

It appears as I expected, with ripples in the glass, what you would expect for the price. It is too soon to see how good the wall thickness is, I should say how uniform, because that is what determines the behavior under temperature changes of this type of glass. I was prepared though, for less than stellar quality.What I was not prepared for was the foreign substance in the beaker. I did not notice it at first, but as a precaution I went to wash it. The interior had crystals of something stuck to it. I thought it might have been glass grains, a product of sloppy manufacturing, but then I found I could scrape them off with steel wool. I have no idea what the substance is, but I scrubbed it three separate times with soap and steel wool, and will feel with my fingers to see if I got it all. I was going to use it for a food application, but not now. Either it was contaminated during manufacturing and shipping, or it was a returned item that the supplier did not check over. In either case it is unacceptable.

Ok I will start with the positive.. this beaker came in a timely manner and the glass is pretty thick.... that being said this beeker is listed as a 5000ml beeker and that apparently is the max capacity of this beeker as it only measures up to 4000ml as compared to another one I ordered from amazon that actually measures 5000ml and this beeker also fits inside that other beeker as I showed in the pictures it is smaller then I was expecting.. over all I probably wouldn’t order this one again just because of those reasons however the thick glass is nice... in the pictures the United one is on the left Incase you can’t tell

The first one cracked and the replacement eventually cracked as well and leaked out and make quite the mess. These are guaranteed to crack on you, so I would not recommend them for anything other than a flower vase.

Great value beaker. Thick glass and packaged well
