DC Collectibles DC Comics Icons: Deathstroke Statue

While I'm a fan of the old-school, original "Deathstroke the Terminator" suit rather than the New 52 version produced here, I wasn't going to pass up a Deathstroke statue in the Icons line, which has been a very promising line so far.This Icons statue has a some good detail, including typical Deathstroke weapons (both held in hand and in holsters). The katana is a cool addition. The New 52 version of the suit kept some of the same elements as the old school suit, with some modern updates. I like some of the changes, such as the belt and added fins on the gloves, other changes not so much. Make up your own mind on that.That said, some of the sculpt work could have been better (around the buckles and straps especially). Also, unfortunately the paintwork isn't as good as it has been on other Icons statues (such as Aquaman and Deadshot, for example). The use of gloss and flat paint works well in some areas, not in others. The orange paint used is a little too bright. The "wear and scratch" effect on portions of the suit is hit or miss (especially the orange parts) - either you like that look or you don't - but the effect can be distracting. Also, to me, the gun he's holding doesn't stand out due to the monotone black color used.The arm holding the sword is a separate piece, which is then attached to the body with a strong magnet. This a great feature that will hopefully reduce the potential for damage to the sword during shipping.Overall it's ok - I was hoping it would be better. But, for the price, I think it's worth picking up if you're a fan of the character, The other option is the Kotobukiya version, which is PVC and true 1/6 scale.

This statue is surprisingly detailed and high-quality, considering the price. I've seen $300 statues that don't look as good as this Deathstroke. The "sword arm" comes disconnected, but a magnet in the shoulder socket allows it to easily be attached or removed without feeling like you might damage the statue. The only downside is it's not at all pose-able and the default pose is none too exciting; just chillin, holding a gun and sword... Woo! But for the price, this statue really can't be beat. If you're a Deathstroke fan, pick one up. You won't be disappointed.

im a avid collector with side show premiim format statues, dc bombshells, dc cover girls and other expensive high end statues. i have all of these in the current collection of the time of this review. as of this post this was the last one i need until wonder women release in nov. i was excited for him and his is cool but he has to be the most lack lustered one in terms of painting that I have seen of this collection. the rest are all beautiful but this one to me just seems off with the way the tried to imply battle damge marks and the blue tones. i also thing the metal strap connectors should of been sculpted better as they are just silver pained and the blue scales of the body are just there. not sure what that is suppose to be but in comparision to the aquaman they are very poor unless they r not scaled armor and are suppose to be quilted vest or something. basically i feel this statue is the pooriest of the collection.

Awesome statue. I am a collector and this line of DC Icons Collectiblesis spot on. I have the entire collection and not have found anything wrongwith this line, perfect size and weight, I shop around for the best deals.Definitely recommend.

The best Christmas gift I could have got my husband but our cat broke it and will have to repurchase another sometime
