One of a kind! Good look at creativity and biologically inspired design!
This book does a good job of highlighting random questions that you've likely never heard of or even thought to ask. A great overview and examination of how smaller organisms move within their environment, their fluid dynamics and how they cooperate with one another (particularly fire ants). This book also connects materials that have evolved in animals that are used (shark skin, eyelashes, water striders etc.) and discusses potential applications of those materials. In addition, the author also describes efforts to try and create robotics that have the same physical properties as are seen in nature, such as salamanders or robots that try to communicate and work together like ants. Great re-cap of some experiments to expand our knowledge of these topics and the book is written in a fun, light hearted curious tone. Highly recommend for anyone, as you can likely finish it in a day or two!

Interesting and well written science book, easy to appreciate.
The book is intelligently written. About what diverse adaptations that living animals and human are using with some still to be applied in clinical techniques and medicine or simply in the living space of earth. Curiosities and some amusing aspects that renders the book appreciative. All topics are comprehensive for anybody with at least high school background... appropriate for all ages.

Scientific and amusing
The book includes explanations about the movement of animals and some implications about the movement of robots. These explanations are both scientific and amusing. The implications for robots are somewhat forced.

Extremely informative
I love to learn about animals. Usually these days not too many things I read are 'new' knowledge. This book was the exception. I learned many fascinating new things and I only wish that this book had even more. I hope that this books is just the start of many more to come! Bring me all the obscure animal studies!

This was a great book. I read it in segments and shared the information with my grandchildren!
I recommend this book. I have heard people say there was too much information on how the experiments were set up but I loved reading about the procedures.
