Let me start by saying that I consider myself a pretty big fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme. I already owned a decent amount of his movies but actually had none in this set so I was excited to find it. I won't review the movies seperately but the set as a whole.The Good: This is a pretty good selection of Van Dammes films, spread across 12 years of his career ('94-'06). Standouts include the Street Fighter movie, the second Universal Soldier, and Double Team which features Dennis Rodman. Don't get me wrong-none of these are Oscar winning movies But if you like action films, the kind full of 90s cheese in particular, you will like most of this collection.The second good thing about this set is the bang for your buck. You get 8 movies for $14 which is a really good deal.The Bad: First off, the packaging. You get all 3 discs stacked on 1 peg. This can often lead to streaks and scratches pretty easily. Two of my discs were alright but the thirds was slightly damaged.Second bad thing-as I said, this is a collection of 8 films spread across 3 discs. You get 2 movies on 1 disc and 3 movies on each of the other 2. The only way to do this is to compress the video file. By doing so you sacrifice video quality. So some of these movies don't look their best. Not unwatchable, but not great.So it's a slight matter of quantity over quality. It would have been a lot better to include at least one more disc in this set to help with this problem. I still have the set 5 stars, but that's because I personally don't mind sacrificing some picture quality for these movies. They're all ones I wanted to see but aren't worth it to me to spend the extra money to buy individually.
