Excellent Book
I read this book because it was a mandatory read for my godson at his college. He's in a class called Global History with a concentration on women in the Middle East. It's yet another story of a middle eastern woman who is trying to assert herself without making too many waves and finds opposition in most male figures in her life. The backdrop is the 1920's which is when Syria was attempting to revolt against the French.

I fell in love with this author!
What a heart-wrenching story! I wish I had ten friends who were readers so I could send them copies. I will have to expand my circle of friends so we can then discuss this book. I plan to buy all of her works.
