Have the job done right
I have been a hair fiber user (Toppik and then Caboki) for about 1 year. Considering the messy application of hair fiber, I was looking for another option and then I tried Dermmatch. I got my Dermmatch (black) in July 2016. After using it for more than 1 month, I come to write this review. I would mainly share how I use Dermmatch and compare it with hair fiber. If you never used this product, or if you only use hair fiber, I hope this review can help you.Pros:- Make you hair look much thicker, fuller, much more 3D than hair fiber. And it looks natural.- With its applicator, it is easy to apply the product evenly, and much less messy than hair fiber.- After drying, it mysteriously provides some support to your hair. You can style your hair like using hair wax which is surprising.- Can survive under fine rain for a while (proven experience).- It does not fall off (only falls off some when you brush your hair after applying it, which is normal).- It has no scent and not detectable.Cons:- Longer application/preparation time (for me, 6 minutes to apply evenly, 10 minutes to let it dry naturally, 6 minutes for additional hair styling)- During the day, if you refresh your hairstyle with your hands, you hands will look like you have just touched some coals or dirt. You need to rinse your hands with soap or washing gel. Merely washing with water cannot entirely clear your hands (even wash with some pressure) and you can see some Dermmatch product may be still on your fingertips.- When you wash your hair, some Dermmatch will be floating on the water and some may stick on the wall. In my case, the black Derrmatch sticks on the white wall of bathtub. The sad thing is that it cannot be simply rinsed with the force of water from the shower and, just like washing my hair, I need to wash it with some shampoo and wash it with a brush. How I use it:- I open the lid and pour some distilled water in the lid. The lid is like an empty disc which can store some water).- Slightly dampen the tip of the applicator and rub it over the Dermmatch. You can see the Dermmatch absorbs some water and it will stay on the applicator.- Directly apply it on the scalp until it is evenly on the needed area- Avoid applying it nearly your hairline, or area with hair density less than 10% (just saying), otherwise it looks like water paint on scalp which is unnatural and easy to be detected- Use a piece of tissue to absorb excessive water on hair- Wait for 10 minutes for drying naturally. Meanwhile, I do other things like brushing tooth and prepare breakfast. I read some reviewers say that it can also blow-dried in 2-3 minutes.- After it is dried, brush it gently. Instead of normal brushing, I kind of do a slight forward bend and brush the hair in the air. Kind of funny if other people see you but it makes your hair look fuller than a normal brush.- Clear your front head with a piece of wet tissue- Apply some hair spray if needed. I also use my fingers to style the hair like using hair wax. It makes my hair look more natural.- Wash my hands, the lid and the applicator with some cleansing gel.Nevertheless, I still get a small bottle of Caboki as my EDC (every day carry) in my bag because it can provide an instant fix for my hair if necessary. Some people also use both to provide fuller hair. To me, Dermmatch is sufficient to provide a better hair looking and hair fiber now becomes an urgent remedy instead of every day use. Another problem of hair fiber is that, no matter how you carefully apply it, it will be every where in the room, and I also worry about inhaling hair fiber every day and doubt if it would cause any respiratory problem in long run.A final word: Dermmatch is worth every penny and I will buy it again after finishing my current disc. Hope this helps.

24 year old female
I'm a 24 year old female and I'm super self conscious about my thinning hair. It's mostly diffuse, but it's mostly noticeable around my part and top of my head. I'm still trying to figure out what's causing it, but since high school I've noticed my hair gradually thinning more and more until this year it became noticeable to other people. I started using Toppik in dark brown, which I loved at first until I noticed people staring at the top of my head during conversation. My main problem is near my part, and with a non-precise application like Toppik, it can get messy around the part and look weird and powdery. To make it look natural, you want your scalp to show so you can have a part, but Toppik tends to cover the part completely, making it look unnatural and noticeable. I began looking elsewhere when I wanted something that can withstand a slight mist or some kind of precipitation, which Toppik can't do.I was directed towards DermMatch and was skeptical after trying something similar in the past. Before trying something like this and throwing it out immediately, you must know there's a technique to the application, which took me a few weeks to master. This comes with a big sponge eyeshadow brush type thing, which I hear the company will send you more if you run out, and you wet it. I have a small cup that I dip the tip of the brush into, and I rub the sponge onto the product to dampen the surface. Then I take the applicator and dab/brush it onto the areas of my part I want covered. I leave a narrow part so that my hair looks thick. Then you quickly run over the areas with the blow drier and *important part* wipe away the excess product on your scalp with a tissue. This is super important because this product on top of your shiny hair will leave a matte finish. It looks natural on your scalp, but not on your hair, so you want to aim to wipe it off your hair and not your scalp. Check the mirror and repeat if some parts need more product. I don't hair spray or anything on top. I don't think that would work all that well anyway. Once I shower and wash my hair it all comes off. I've slept with it on and haven't gotten any on my pillow, but I also don't put this on the sides of my head. If your boyfriend runs his hand through your hair, some will probably get on his hand. If I sleep with it on, I do a little touch up the next day, not a full application.I haven't tried walking through light rain with this or jumping into a pool, so I can't speak for it's water proof abilities which it claims, but this stuff does not budge throughout the day whereas Toppik started bunching up weirdly around my hair. Sometimes if there's still a little scalp peeking through and it's not right next to my part, I sprinkle a tiny bit of Toppik to cover it. I then pat it and dab a little with a tissue. I want to say since DermMatch has a little bit of a waxy texture, it gives a little bit of a grip to the Toppik. I hear people like to use both DermMatch then Toppik on top for any patchy areas, and it works well for them.I have dark brown Asian hair, and I got the darkest color. It works well. You use so little product that one pan will last a very long time. I thought this was just going to be eye shadow on my scalp, but the wet application makes it different and so much better. You get lots of precision. However, I can't speak for people with a big area to cover, since I imagine that would take a long time. I also suggest you have a little hair on top to blend this all together. If you smear this on a completely bare scalp, it'll just look like paint.

Contents fell out and broke on floor - but generally good product
Been a user of this product for a long time. Usually good customer service. After I use this product I always tap the fine dust off the disk. Last one I bought, on 3rd day went to tap it out and the disk fell out and broke into a tin of (messy) pieces on the floor. I had noticed when I first got it that was a bit lose in there, kind o ratting around in the container - not tight like all previous ones I had purchased. Contacted them and they offered me half-price for a new one?! Kind of surprised, since it seemed defective to me and I barely got to use it. First-time customer service, and the product itself, was marginal.
