5-Star Product, 4-Star Rating
This Broan-NuTone AER80LWH ENERGY STAR Certified Bath Fan is a five-star product that unfortunately I had to give a four star rating. I had to replace a 20-year-old Nutone bath fan that also had a 15 inch round grill. The new fan body fit into the existing hold with a small amount of sheetrock trimming. The finished product looked great. The fan was very quiet compared to the old fan. The light was amazingly bright and dimmed well with an LED-certified dimmer. Now for the reason why I rated this product as I did. The installation instructions were rubbish. I consider myself a very capable DIY guy. The poor instructions and very confusing illustrations gave me fits. Almost every step of the installation process needed some trial and error to get right because the instructions were so vague. The wiring was even difficult because the hot leads for both the fan and the light were the same color. I had to trace the wire to the back of the receptacles in the junction box to find the right wire. That part of the installation would have been easier if one of the hot leads was a different color wire or the wires were labelled. From start to finish, it took 3 hours to unpack the unit and complete the installation. If the instructions had been better, I guess I could have completed the job 15 minutes sooner. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. I looks great and is doing the job.

Replaced an existing fan
I replaces an existing fan/light with the Broan unit and it went in relatively easily. Be sure you make the proper cut-out adjacent to a supporting rafter as per instructions- there is a template for the cut-out on the box. . The only issue I have with the Broan is the plastic vent door connected to the ductwork is flimsy and not at all balanced where it closes securely when the fan is off. There should be a weighted lower end to the vent door so it securely drops closed when the fan is off. I ended up screwing a small screw into the lowermost portion of the plastic door for a "weight" so it drops closed. Be sure to check your set-up before installing it into the ceiling. My "fix" seems to be working. The fan is much quieter than my old model and the light is pleasant.

Wire Hanes too short both end
The light is nice the fan isn’t strong enough to use in my 5’x8’ bathroom and the biggest issue I had was the wires is too short make it difficult to plug in the fan housing. While hanging the light on the light holder.

Pretty easy to install
My husband installed this exhaust fan in less than an hour. It's quiet and LED light is nice and bright.

Quiet, bright and install wasn't terrible
The biggest challenge was removing the previous fan. Installation wasn't terrible. It's been in a few months now and the fan continues to run quiet and bright.

Great upgrade from standard noisy one
Low noise level, good quality, medium to hard to install depending on your previous setup and location, things that I like:- Noise level is low and similar to a light rain sound (white noise)- Lightning is good- Air extraction is good and keeps bathroom free of condensation. What I don’t like:- No electrical hardware provided (cable screw on wires, etc.)- Edges are very sharp on box you will cut yourself if you don’t use proper gloves.-Air coupler to duct it’s hard to assembly once you tape the pipe, the little plastic edges that go into the box are very small and you have to do a lot of pressure to get them in.In general is a great product but a little pain in the neck to install.

Exhaust fan performance is poor
Very disappointed with this product’s performance. The bathroom fan didn’t improve the steam or condensation much at all from before installation of this fan. The mirror and vanity in my bathroom are still wet and steamy. The fan is quiet . Light is bright but most importantly I expected better performance from the fan for this price.

Tricky to install.
This was a new installation and it was a little difficult to adequately connect the rough in box to the ceiling supports.

Careful cutting hole for fan!
Bought this unit as it specifically said no attic access required for installation. Also, because it was round and LED. Now.... this was to replace an older existing fan/light assembly. I did have to enlarge the hole to allow this unit to fit. I used the provided template a d did not cut any wider. With some difficulty and wiggling managed to get fan unit into hole and fastened in place. Wiring and duct were also done as required. When I put the light on the frame barely covered the hole I cut. One saw blade width wider and it wouldn't. So, be extra careful cutting that hole. Fan is fairly quiet. Light is nice and bright. True, no attic access was required. I added a bat of insulation across hole before fan installed as loose blows in insulation had fallen out. All in all good product.

EXACTLY what I needed
Quick delivery, high quality, low noise, reasonably easy to install and an awesome price through the deals store. Said it had a slight scratch on it, but if it did, I never saw it!

Nice light, fan still loud
We bought this to replace an old rattling light/fan combo. The light is bright, and the low profile sits nice and flush against the ceiling. The fan however seemed much louder than advertised. It was professionally installed and they even double-checked because of the noise, but just seems to be the product itself. Better than the older one, but still too annoying for me. We disconnected the fan and now just use it as a light since replacing the full fan fixture would involve more drywall work than we care to do.
