I almost sent this back. When I first got it, the entire thing was slick with a strong smelling substance. Since I sit part of the day and stand the the rest, whenever I moved the mat, it left a slick substance on my floor which was very hazardous and remained on my shoes. I finally took it outside and let it air out for a day and cleaned it three times with soap and water. It makes a huge difference to stand on an anti-fatigue mat, but just make sure you have the time to clean and prepare it before bringing it into your home.

These mats have slick, dangerous beveled edges that completely negate how cushy and comfortable they are to stand stationary on. I slip nearly every time I step on or off one of the two I bought for my kitchen. I'm terrified of slipping while carrying boiling water or a knife. The cushion factor isn't worth the risk! The manufacturer needs to go back to the drawing board on this design. I hate leaving negative reviews, but I don't want anyone to get hurt.

I've been using this mat for about 3 weeks and it's great. I used my standup desk for about a week without this mat and was shocked at the difference this mat makes. I'm able to stand all day now with no leg/foot/back pain. Many other people in my office gave the Veridesk mat and this mat is just a good and $10 cheaper.
