Unlike most boxes sold as hat boxes that are just large flimsy cardstock boxes with ill fitting lids, these boxes are truly made for storing hats. They are made of a stiff corrugated cardboard with stiffeners doubling the side walls. A lid that folds as hinged on one side and tabs that insert into slots in the box to hold the lid securely fastened. There is also a circular form inside to hold the hat in position. There is also a handle attached to the box for carrying. The size is perfect for hats up to the size of the smaller "western style" hats, although the larger "cowboy hats" will not fit. The only two drawbacks I see are first, the lack of a larger size for those few really large hats you have. And secondly, the price seems a little steep for a box (some of which seems to be eaten up in shipping as these come already assembled rather than flat and therefore require an even larger box to safely package them in.) But I have been unable to find anything else of this quality elsewhere. In all I will continue to order these boxes when they are availible until all of my hats are adequately protected.

This is a quality hat box in "finished" card board, complete with an insert for holding and protecting the crown. The box easily accommodated my new Panama "Plantation" style hat with a 3" brim. The shipping is a bit expensive; however, the hat box that was packed in the shipping box arrived safely and undamaged.

These boxes are great for storing the hats not worn. I bought 3 and put my winter fedoras in them in the summer and the summer ones in the winter. I wish the description had said the boxed had cut out inserts for the hats crown. That made them even better.

I was glad to find a hat box to store my husbands hat in but I guess I was expecting something a little more decorative than just a cardboard boxwith an insert for the hat to sit on. The insert was of no use as it was too big for the hat to rest on..

Just what I was looking for. Good quality with cut out for the hat to sit secure.
