Great game for the Switch
This games was very well made for the switch with high action game play. The AI on your team are awesome and very helpful when gaming alone. Online works very good with drop in and out gaming. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you like high pace zombie horde action. Love how you play different characters from different countries making the story more bigger than just one location. This version is way better than the PS and Xbox version not in graphics, but in play on the go or on the TV which the switch shines on.👍

Managing Expectations: WWZ on Switch
EDIT 4/19/22: As of this edit, Saber has added Horde Mode and the Marseille campaign (as well as local LAN play!) via a free software update. It is still unknown as to whether the Aftermath DLC will be coming to Switch, but the added value in the free update is astounding. The first thing one needs to do when playing a Switch port of a Triple-A title is to manage their expectations…the Switch is meant to be a hybrid console that can be played on-the-go, and in order to sell enough of said consoles to make a profit, Nintendo has had to accept some limitations in graphical/audio fidelity. I primarily play this in handheld mode, as that is my reason for owning a Switch—AAA titles with portable playability! With that being said, here are my thoughts on the Switch port of WWZ (which I also own on PS4 and PC):Pros:+ Swarm Engine works surprisingly well on Switch (Hundreds of zombies on screen at once) and I have experienced no frame rate drop in handheld mode+ No reduction of base game characters/skill trees/weapons/equipment+ Controls are fairly tight; there is an Aim Assist that is very helpful with JoyCon aiming (it can be adjusted in the Controls menu)+ AI Director seems to switch up (I’m terribly sorry for this pun) Swarm timing and map variations just like the Console/PC version+ Online Multiplayer seems tight (don’t be surprised to wait a bit to get connected with random players publicly, however) and has voice chat (though people rarely seem to use it)+ AI bot teammates are pretty competent at killing zombies and helping you back up when they can, up through the Hard difficulty…any higher than that; you’ll need to find solid human teammates to fill out the rosterCons:- Obvious hits in visual fidelity based on the Switch’s hardware (playing in Docked Mode looks bad)- Audio takes a hit as well (I wish there was an option to download higher-quality audio packs)- No Local/LAN play option (this extends to all versions of the game)…that being said, it has to option to host your own P2P online game, but you still have to be connected to Nintendo Switch online- No Marseilles campaign missions at launch (though Saber’s Twitter feed says it’s incoming sometime this year for free)…unsure as to whether the Aftermath content will be available as DLC; I’d bet my paycheck that Saber is waiting to see how profitable Switch version sales are before they devote a lot of resources to itSummary:If you already love WWZ for being a L4D love letter while still having character/weapon progression and want to play it handheld and aren’t sure about the future of the Steam Deck, this is a solid option. If you want to have a true high-fidelity AAA experience on a console with limited hardware, you are bound to be disappointed. If your expectations are set accordingly and you love the grind-y feel of a game whose primary function is to allow you to mow down relentless waves of zombies, Saber Interactive has given you a real treat in allowing you to take this with you and play anywhere.TL;DR: Manage your expectations with regards to Switch hardware capabilities; play it in handheld mode and you won’t be disappointed.

Grindy to start, but good once it gets going
WWZ is a team-based co-op pve fpshooter similar to Left 4 Dead in theme in that it takes place during the outbreak of a zombie apocalypse. It adds rpg style progression with weapon upgrades and a talent tree. You upgrade all this stuff via points gained through completing missions(you do get points even if you fail the mission). The game is a real grind if you go solo. You’ll have to learn the maps and you will be quite underpowered. Some missions(like the second one) are near impossible solo until you’ve leveled a bit.Once you start getting deep into your classes skill tree, and have some guns leveled , it starts to get pretty fun.The bots are near useless in some situations , but once you learn their habits and foibles, the game becomes easier. It looks awful on the switch (much worse than the pc even at lowest settings) but it’s quite impressive that they managed to get it to run at a pretty steady 30 given the amount of zombies this thing throws at you.It does have special zombies akin to l4d and others, and they are pretty standard with some mix-ups. My favorite is the infector, which spits on you, and if you don’t disinfect in the time allotted you turn into a flesh-muncher.There are a lot of classes (i highly recommend the Exterminator if you go solo) to choose from, so everyone should find something they like.I only played the pc version co-op and adding just one friend made the game considerably easier at low levels.Overall, i threw 45 hours into this (maxing 2 characters and beating all the levels) and after i learned the game’s nuances, really had a blast with it. But I’d be lying if i said there weren’t times i wanted to quit playing in the first 10 hours or so. Great game, if you want to put in the time.

So fun!
This game was surprisingly a blast to play. It plays similar to Left 4 Dead where you travel in a 4-person squad and essentially try to go from Point A to Point B while trying not to die. The stories were engaging, the level up system is a refreshing add-on, and it's entertaining to watch or play. I ended up buying another copy for my wife to play with me and we have had a blast. The only down-side to this game is there is no introduction or explanation on how to controls work. You just have to play around and discover for yourself. Which is fun sometimes, aggravating other times. Either way, I still very much enjoyed it.

Extremely fun
I bought this game after watching my fiance play it for several weeks. I finally convinced myself it's entertaining enough for me to enjoy it. I really like the graphics and gameplay is almost neverending. It's a game that has many levels of play and can entertain you for hours. I ended up buying my 12 years old son a copy as well and we all play online together. 5⭐ game!
